2022 Connecticut Child Tax Rebate
SimplifyCT.org, a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce their online portal for free assistance with the new CT Child Tax Rebate, is now available, with bilingual Spanish/English customer service available.

This new online portal expands the free tax service offered to CT residents to allow for maximum personal convenience, including assisting low income residents to complete their registration for the new CT Child tax rebate program. A trusted partner of the United Way / 211, SimplifyCT is happy to provide support to many nonprofits across the state.

“For many years the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has provided free in-person tax preparation and financial consulting for Connecticut’s low-income families, senior citizens, veterans and the disabled. SimplifyCT is proud to expand our services to assist our neighbors in filing for the new Connecticut Child Tax Rebate program, running from June 1 to July 31 only. It’s imperative we get as many families registered as possible for this benefit that they are eligible for,”
Patrick Gentile

Executive Director, SimplifyCT

How it works: SimplifyCT’s bilingual customer service team at 860-590-8910 is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm to assist CT residents to apply for the new Child Tax Rebate by walking them through the online application on the CT.gov/drs website. Once the family has filed, they will receive $250 per child (up to 3 children or $750) as a one time cash payment from the State of CT. For additional information, please see the CT.gov site, here.

All of SimplifyCT’s services are free of charge.

The need is great
It is estimated that up to 140,000 people in Connecticut may be eligible for some type of cash benefit from the State or Federal government, but they must be in the Federal tax system in order to receive the benefits.

The deadline for applying for this new tax rebate is July 31, so CT residents who have not yet taken advantage of these programs should act quickly.
