
SimplifyCT's Leidy Diaz Brito Named Director of Financial Stability Programs
Darien, CT - SimplifyCT, Inc. has announced the promotion of Leidy Diaz Brito to Director of Financial Stability Programs, recognizing her leadership, dedication, and growing impact among the organization’s programs and initiatives.
Since joining SimplifyCT in 2023, she has become an integral part of our organization, bringing more than seven years of experience in tax preparation, program operations, and community based service delivery. Her work has been focused on expanding access to accurate, high-quality tax services for low-to-moderate income individuals and families throughout the State of Connecticut and beyond. She has led SimplifyCT’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, overseeing volunteer recruitment, placement, training, and staffing across multiple locations. Additionally, she has served as the primary point of contact for our network of community partners to ensure services are delivered in trusted, accessible locations.
“Leidy’s promotion reflects both her outstanding contributions to SimplifyCT and the direction in which our organization is heading,” said Juan Berrios, Executive Director. “Her leadership has helped strengthen our VITA program, expand our year-round services, and improve how we serve low-to-moderate income individuals and families across Connecticut. As we continue integrating Financial Capability Services into our model, Leidy is exactly the kind of leader we need to guide this work.”
Education is central to Leidy’s work. She designs and hosts workshops for clients and provides clear, accessible guidance that helps individuals and families better understand tax processes, available benefits, and their financial responsibilities. Her background in nursing reflects her longstanding commitment to service, care, trust, and advocacy. She holds an Associates Degree in Accounting from CT STate Norwalk and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western Connecticut State University. She is also an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent, a Licensed Life Insurance Agent, and a member of the Supervisory Committee at Members Credit Union, bringing a strong blend of technical knowledge and people-centered support to her role.
In her new position, Leidy will provide leadership and oversight of SimplifyCT’s Financial Stability portfolio, including VITA, ITIN Services, Financial Coaching, Financial Education, Volunteer Engagement, Community Partnerships and other related economic mobility initiatives. This promotion reflects our ongoing commitment to the priorities outlined in our Strategic Plan which includes the expansion of integrated Financial Stability services and the development of year-round programs that help individuals and families achieve long-term stability. Her leadership will play a critical role in strengthening program delivery, expanding impact, and ensuring that SimplifyCT remains responsive to the evolving needs of the communities we serve.
