Leidy Diaz serves as the Director of Financial Stability Programs for SimplifyCT. Leidy is a nonprofit operations leader with experience in tax preparation, ITIN services, and volunteer management. As Director of Financial Stability Programs at SimplifyCT, she oversees the IRS-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program across multiple Connecticut locations. Each year, Leidy’s work is pivotal in helping to recruit, train, and support more than 120 volunteers who in turn assist thousands of families with free tax preparation, bringing millions of dollars back into our communities.
Leidy is an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent (CAA), specializing in ITIN applications and fraud prevention, and leads SimplifyCT’s efforts to expand financial access for immigrant and underserved populations. Her role blends community outreach, strategic planning, and program evaluation to ensure our services are accessible, accurate, and impactful.
She holds an Associates Degree in Accounting from CT State Norwalk and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western Connecticut State University. She is also an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent, a Licensed Life Insurance Agent, and a member of the Supervisory Committee at Members Credit Union, bringing a strong blend of technical knowledge and people-centered support to her role.
